Welcome to Holistic BP Health, a supportive space for women of color navigating high blood pressure while balancing full, demanding lives. If you’ve ever been told to “just change your diet” or “reduce stress” without any consideration for culture, family traditions, menopause, or the real pressures you carry, you’re not alone.
Here, you’ll find natural, practical support for your blood pressure and heart health that honors where you come from, what you’re carrying, and the season of life you’re in without guilt or extremes.

Hi, I’m Donna Williams, a woman navigating blood pressure and heart health just like many of you, and also a certified holistic health coach. I created HolisticBPHealth because I know how frustrating it can be to receive advice that doesn’t reflect our culture, responsibilities, or season of life.
Here, lived experience and holistic guidance come together to support your health in a realistic, compassionate way.
My journey into blood pressure health became deeply personal after a severe reaction to medication left me waking up one night gasping for air, terrified, and forced to confront how fragile and resilient the body truly is.
That experience changed everything. It pushed me to look beyond “manage it forever” and begin rebuilding my health from the inside out.
After graduating from an integrative nutrition program, I discovered there were gentler, evidence-informed ways to support heart health alongside medical care through food, stress regulation, movement, and sustainable lifestyle changes.
Not shortcuts. Not fear-based rules. Just realistic support for real lives.
Today, I support women of color and adults over 40 who want to understand their numbers, reduce risk where possible, and care for their hearts in ways that honor culture, history, and lived experience. Step by step, we focus on progress not perfection.
You don’t have to do this alone.

In our African American community, high blood pressure shows up far more often, about twice as often as in Caucasians, leading to so much more serious consequences like kidney failure, and the possibility of having inherited kidney defect that limits our ability to handle salt. |
Now our elders blood pressure is usually from a cause that is unknown, putting them at the greatest risk of a brain attack or even a heart attack. Controlling their blood pressure reduces this risk up to 25 percent. All this can change with age and may also shift because of other underlying conditions or medications. Learn more so you can make informed choices in your own life.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to support your blood pressure naturally especially while balancing work, family, culture, and your own well-being you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Start with my beginner guide, created specifically for women of color who want practical, compassionate support without extremes or guilt.
Knowing what counts as “normal” blood pressure is a powerful first step.

Hypertension is silent but dangerous. That’s why it’s crucial to:
- Know your baseline numbers.
- Monitor at home, when possible.
- Recognize patterns rather than panicking over a single reading.
High numbers don’t mean you’ve failed they mean your body is asking for support. If your readings stay elevated, it’s important to speak with your clinician early, not later.
