Today, I am helping women of color over 40 take control of their blood pressure and thrive. I’m a woman of color who once was an overmedicated patient. My journey with high blood pressure nearly cost me my life, literally. Back then my medication was an ACE inhibitor. One night I woke up with a swollen tongue, and struggling to breathe. With my heart racing, I shook my head desperately, trying to move my tongue enough to catch air.
That terrifying experience changed everything.
Through that moment, I realized there had to be a safer, natural way to manage high blood pressure, one that worked with my body, respected my culture, and actually improved my quality of life.
If you’re a woman of color over 40 living with high blood pressure, you’ve probably been told some version of the same thing: take the medication, reduce salt, exercise more. But what happens when the medication leaves you exhausted? Dizzy? Foggy at work? What happens when your numbers don’t improve the way you hoped?
High blood pressure isn’t just a health issue. It can quietly become a career issue affecting your focus, your stamina, your confidence, and your long-term ability to show up fully in your professional life.
This space was created for you.
“For doctors to fail to inform patients of the gentlest, safest, most beneficial action they can take to promote their health is nothing short of criminal negligence.”
- Garth Davis, MD
I help women of color in their 40s and beyond who:
You do not have to choose between your culture and your health.
I know this journey personally.
When I faced high blood pressure myself, I followed the standard advice. I took the medication. I tried to “eat healthier.” But much of the dietary guidance felt disconnected from my culture, my kitchen, and my real life.
I began asking deeper questions:
Through research, intentional dietary shifts, and culturally rooted adjustments to how I ate and lived, I was able to regain control of my numbers and my energy.
That transformation became my mission.
Through step-by-step lifestyle changes, I guide you to:
