Helping Women of Color Over 40 Lower Their Blood Pressure - Without Abandoning Their Culture!

Today, I am helping women of color over 40 take control of their blood pressure and thrive. I’m a woman of color who once was an overmedicated patient. My journey with high blood pressure nearly cost me my life, literally. Back then my medication was an ACE inhibitor. One night I woke up with a swollen tongue, and struggling to breathe. With my heart racing, I shook my head desperately, trying to move my tongue enough to catch air.

That terrifying experience changed everything.

Through that moment, I realized there had to be a safer, natural way to manage high blood pressure, one that worked with my body, respected my culture, and actually improved my quality of life.

If you’re a woman of color over 40 living with high blood pressure, you’ve probably been told some version of the same thing: take the medication, reduce salt, exercise more. But what happens when the medication leaves you exhausted? Dizzy? Foggy at work? What happens when your numbers don’t improve the way you hoped?

High blood pressure isn’t just a health issue. It can quietly become a career issue affecting your focus, your stamina, your confidence, and your long-term ability to show up fully in your professional life.

This space was created for you.

“For doctors to fail to inform patients of the gentlest, safest, most beneficial action they can take to promote their health is nothing short of criminal negligence.”

-      Garth Davis, MD

Who I Help

I help women of color in their 40s and beyond who:

  • Are on blood pressure medication but frustrated by side effects.

  • Who want to lower their blood pressure without overreliance on medications.

  • Are newly diagnosed and overwhelmed.

  • Feel confused by conflicting nutrition advice.

  • Want to lower their numbers safely without giving up the foods and traditions they grew up with.

You do not have to choose between your culture and your health.

Why I Started Holistic BP Health

I know this journey personally.

When I faced high blood pressure myself, I followed the standard advice. I took the medication. I tried to “eat healthier.” But much of the dietary guidance felt disconnected from my culture, my kitchen, and my real life.

I began asking deeper questions:

  • Why are women of color disproportionately affected?
  • Why are we given generic diet plans that don’t reflect our traditions?
  • Why isn’t lifestyle change presented as a structured, empowering strategy instead of an afterthought?

Through research, intentional dietary shifts, and culturally rooted adjustments to how I ate and lived, I was able to regain control of my numbers and my energy.

That transformation became my mission.

How I Help!

Through step-by-step lifestyle changes, I guide you to:

  • Reduce dependence on medications safely.

  • Follow culturally relevant, nourishing diets.

  • Learn effective stress management and acupressure techniques.

  • Incorporate herbs, exercise, and other complementary therapies.

  • Achieve measurable outcomes, including normal blood pressure numbers and restored energy.

My programs combine personal experience with professional expertise to give you practical tools, flavorful recipes, and strategies that work in the real world.

Because We, Who Are Women of Color, Our Wellness Journey Is Unique!

  • We’re often expected to be strong even when we’re depleted.

  • Stress is treated like a personality trait instead of a health risk.

  • Many meal plans ignore our culture and family traditions.

  • We’re more likely to be dismissed, rushed, or not fully heard.

  • We carry a lifetime of “push through” habits that eventually show up in the body.

This isn’t about blame. It’s about support that finally makes sense.

The Hidden Career Risk No One Talks About

For midlife professional women, high blood pressure can show up as:

sleep deprivation. https://www.info-on-high-blood-pressure.com/about-me-overcoming-high-blood-pressure.html
  • Persistent fatigue
  • Brain fog
  • Stress intolerance
  • Increased sick days
  • Reduced productivity

Over time, unmanaged hypertension increases the risk of stroke and heart disease conditions that can abruptly interrupt careers and financial stability.

Your health is not separate from your livelihood.

Protecting your blood pressure is protecting your future.

A Culturally Healthy Approach To Lowering Blood Pressure

I am not anti-medication. Medication can be necessary and life-saving.

But medication should not be the only strategy presented to you.

My approach focuses on:

  • Culturally relevant nutrition adjustments
  • Budget-conscious food strategies
  • Evidence-informed dietary principles
  • Sustainable lifestyle shifts
  • Empowerment through knowledge

You don’t need expensive superfoods.

You don’t need to erase your heritage.

You need informed, strategic adjustments that work within your real life.

That’s what Holistic BP Health is built around.
