My eldest sister stopped by to see Mum, like she always did. That day she used Mum’s bathroom and saw blood. She froze. In the 1990s, in our culture, you didn’t question elders. You didn’t talk about women’s bodies.


By September it had a name, Ovarian cancer, and it moved fast. I flew home, spent two weeks with her in December, planning to return in February. While I kept thinking of a family friend we’d visited years before, her screams reached us from the driveway. I prayed day and night that Mum would be spared that level of pain.


I wanted her suffering to end. I didn’t want to lose her. Both can be true.

The months blurred, work, family, worry, midnight phone calls. After the funeral, my body finally spoke. High blood pressure. Meds, then complications. The worst was a dry cough that wouldn’t quit. Nine months of it. Meetings, church, the grocery store, coughing, apologizing, shrinking. Embarrassment. Stress. Fear.


That changed me. It’s why I care so deeply about this work and about listening to what our bodies are trying to say.

A co-worker/friend who was studying to become an acupuncturist, an alternative treatment therapy, became my unofficial coach and guided me back to a refreshed life. After my recovery I became a health coach to make sure that the struggles I had in magnifying my voice on the many health issues I was going through, wouldn’t be the same once you and others in my community would face.


I know, I know, coaching can feel cliché these days, I get it. For a while, I side‑eyed the word myself. What shifted for me was watching capable people stall because of a few blind spots or "get stuck". The moment someone holds up a clear, compassionate mirror, things move, "they unstuck". That’s the kind of coaching I care about: practical, honest, and tailored to you, not hype or “guru” talk.


What makes my approach different? I don’t sell motivation; I build momentum with you.


My background is in operations, administration, and business banking, over a decade spent crafting development plans and running multiple business plans. So, our work looks like this: identify the real constraint, turn it into a simple plan you can execute, and track what matters. No fluff. Just clarity, structure, and next actionable steps you can feel good about.
